This is August Avery - she's in her late 30s, a producer for channel 5KUB: Katalox Union Broadcasting. 5KUB has relegated Avery to producing schlocky television filler: an ongoing series of hokey paranormal investigation specials.
Katalox is the nearest big city to the quiet town of Hollans. As fortune would have it, these blank-slate farmlands provide the perfect location for Avery and her staff to fabricate outlandish ghost stories for the network.
