UMBREON STORY SHORT
“You’re always getting yourself into trouble, huh?”
A certain purple-furred Pokémon said sarcastically as she tugged on the ears of her very battered companion. He growled, reminding himself he couldn’t just get angry at Espeon—she was, after all, actually helping to patch up his wounds.
Umbreon was known in this city, bustling with every kind of Pokémon, as someone extremely violent and troublesome. He wouldn’t hesitate to SMACK someone hard with a Shadow Ball if they dared look at him the wrong way. Getting into an argument with this Umbreon usually led to an immediate fight, one where he’d often end up bruised but, at least, with his pride intact.
Of course, Umbreon had one weakness—a weakness with big ears, purple fur, and a bright red gem. And his weakness never hesitated to tug his ears when he needed a reminder that he wasn’t invincible.
“Uh… I was fine on my own,” he mumbled, grumbling at the ear pull. The wound on his arm—still swollen from a brutal hit—said otherwise. What kind of Umbreon goes up against a Blaziken? This kind of Umbreon! The kind that thinks type weaknesses only apply to other Umbreon, but somehow not to him specifically. “I could’ve beaten him.”
“First of all, you shouldn’t even think about fighting a Fighting-type... second, let’s be real—you got your butt handed to you this time.” Espeon gave his ear another tug, though her smile revealed a hint of amusement. Teasing Umbreon was her favorite sport; watching his frown deepen with embarrassment was just adorable. “Aw, don’t pout! You’ll fight someone you can actually beat next time.”
But Umbreon didn’t want to beat just anyone… he wanted to beat that Blaziken.
The Pokémon League champion, where groups of Pokémon trained and battled to earn everyone’s respect… if Umbreon wanted to be a champion, he HAD to beat the odds. And that Blaziken? Umbreon definitely could’ve won, if it weren’t for that kick to his arm.
“I’ll face him again next week.” Espeon immediately tugged his ear in protest, pulling a frustrated yelp from him. She could hardly believe it… he was a lost cause.
“Do I have to be the one to knock some sense into you!?”
In this Pokémon city, where these creatures lived their lives like everyday citizens, all sorts of amusing situations unfolded each day.
