JUNKO

This is an OC I designed back in early 2020, but never really finalized. I kept going back and forth on her design, before just scrapping it all together. But, since then, I have learned so much about 3D-modeling and character-design as a whole. So, after redesigning my other characters and giving them proper 3D-models, I decided it was time to revisit this one and give her some life.

And here we are! After 2-weeks and many many iterations, she is finally done. Fully rigged (albeit a bit janky since I am not good at rigging), and with 15 different facial expressions she can change into whenever! I will be creating a toooon of stuff with her now that she is done.

Junko was the first of the mechas, built in "The Furnace" (will post that piece soon P:). Though she was a complete, functioning mecha, her purpose was more of a proof-of-concept, and was quickly discarded as newer, cleaner mechas were manufactured. Even when she was in working order, her programming was dodgy and corrupted, her armor made of scrap; to summarize, she was made with the intent of being temporary (hence, the "Junk" in "Junko"). Soon after her creation, she was thrown into the depths of "The Furnace", and the AOI line of mecha took her place.

Decades had passed, and the world she was born into was a much different place compared to when she was first created. Her creators were gone, and the Demons of this wasteland were now its main inhabitants. In their search for a guardian to protect them, they stumbled upon Junko's now-lifeless shell. They took her back to "The Furnace", and gave her new life. Though she served as a protector for the Demons, she harbored a deep-rooted anger for those who created her, and the AOI mecha that replaced her so quickly.
