Whenever I make alternate designs of characters, I like to look up their official concept arts and pick out different elements from the prototype character designs to add to my alternate design. My interpretation of Silver is mostly based on his "Venice the Mink" appearance with his colour scheme, long tail and slicked-back head quills, but the rest of the design elements like the ponytail and the diamond forehead mark are from his other concept art designs. I started to think of elves while sketching this in December 2023, probably because of their associations with magic and telekinesis being a more sci-fi-esque form of magic. I made Silver into a long-eared hedgehog as a result, a species native to Central Asia and parts of the Middle East with a name that speaks for itself. Lastly, I aged him down to about 8-9 years old, as I liked the thought of him and Blaze being more like alternate counterparts to Sonic and Tails.
