The biggest predator in the Alayssian deserts is the terrifying Psychovenator. A gigantic carcharodontosaurid, these are solitary hunters and fiercely territorial, even to each other. They specialize in hunting small to mid-sized prey most of the time. The only times they get together are during the breeding season, a mother raising her young, or a mob coming together to take down large sauropods like Arrhinotitan during their migration. But even so, they're not pack hunters with sophisticated tactics; they attack in a bloodthirsty mob. During times of food shortage, Psychovenators can store fat in their tails. The people living in the desert have come to respect these magnificent hunters, believing them to be sacred protectors of the lands, and some tribes have even learned to bond with them, using them to protect their villages from intruders.
