This is one of several creatures that are completely new to this official canon with no previous version. This animal is based on horses and zebras.

Another unique Alayssian horse native to the poles is the Snow Zebra. Interestingly, its minimal amount of stripes makes it resemble the extinct quagga. Since there aren't as many biting flies in its habitat, it doesn't need as many stripes. These wild horses are stockier than standard horses and can have a temper. While they are herbivores, they can still deliver a nasty kick when threatened. Some of the people living near the poles have learned to tame and use Snow Zebras, not for steeds but for carrying supplies and farming. These horses also migrate in herds of hundreds, making them popular targets for smaller or mid-sized predators.
