The way you've always done shading gives such a soft and smooth feeling that's just beyond me. I know this is a weird phrase and sometimes overused, but your art truly does look edible and scrumptious.
It's Vera! Except on paper!
Spent my weekend just taking my time to pencil and ink this, and it was quite the experience! I honestly surprised myself I was able to carry over my digital inking skills over so well. This is honestly probably THE best traditional work I've ever made up to this point. I left the pencil marks (mostly) in there, because I want to look back at the page and appreciate it for what it is and was. Hopefully it's not too distracting in the final image.
It was cool to try my hand at ink splattering, something I was afraid to do in the past when I was a teenager because I was afraid the ink droplets would ruin my hard work. Turns out that it was a lot more controllable than I thought, and it turned out great for my first try.
I've thrown in numerous pictures of the process that I took, just in case people were curious of what it looked like at different stages. I also tweaked the contrast on the first pic to view easier, so the second shows how it came out from the scanner. Besides adding in my watermark in post, that's pretty much all I did to it!
Tools:
Pigma Microns
Pentel Fude Brush Pen
Azure Markers (ink fill)
Daler-Rowney Black Drawing Ink + a random brush (for ink splattering)
