Lovely design & really cool shading choices– reminds me of early 3D game promotional renders. Really cool ocarina-esque vents on the torso. Maybe they could also be used for speech?

Character design idea I found in an old sketch of mine, I decided to color it up all nice and professional.
Clearly inspired by Johnny (head) and Sun of Son (chest) both from Chrono Trigger.
He doesnt have a mouth, but he'd move the mandibles on his torso when he speaks. The holes on his torso are to vent heat/fire maybe?

For some unknown reason the design reminds me of Super Metroid and I can't look at this from any other angle...
