I miss these shows! Thanks for the nostalgic memories. P.S. Next time, try Top Cat
I've been watching a lot of older non-Disney cartoon material on YouTube lately, both classic old shorts from the Looney Tunes era and the intro songs to animated nonsense from the 60's/70's that used to rerun on Cartoon Network. One old show, Wacky Races, used to rerun all the time, and in turn the spin-off "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop" also came on every so often.
It was a fairly cheesy and basic show as a whole (Not surprisingly it only lasted a season), but its hard to not like Paul Lynde's flamboyant delivery as "The Hooded Claw". I remember enjoying his Goldbergian traps that were always more complicated then then needed to be. I also rather like the look of Penelope's design, even if she is just a big 'helpless damsel' stereotype for half the show.
