The end of 2023 was exceptionally hard on me emotionally and mentally. For nearly a decade, I had built my future around someone that wouldn't and couldn't care less. And when they were gone, I had no idea who I even was anymore. But the last half of 2024 has been a welcome, positive change in my life. I met some cool people through Comics and Random Art Battles, and rediscovered how much fun it is to write and draw comics. It felt like I had reconnected with an old friend I hadn't seen in nearly 20 years, but that old friend was me at 14.
So after the event ended, I started to think of the other things I like and the things that inspire me. And I made a fun little doodle of a landslide of my favorite things, and spent (an admittedly long) time putting this together. A reflection of who I am, should I ever forget again. An amalgamation of my most favorite things and pastimes. The makeup of my spirit. My sense of self.
I don't know what the future holds for me, but as days go by I find myself emboldened by my experience in the many collabs and art events I took part in. Thanks for sticking with me.
And thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
