So Everett is the guy who's been resurrecting the main zombies in the first place. He comes from a line of mages called the Revivers, and his job is to resurrect folks who died too soon so that they can enjoy life again and maybe take care of unfinished business. Despite what that may sound like, Everett insists that he is NOT a necromancers; hell, when was the last time you've heard of a necromancer use a doll and some magic spells to bind a soul and create a new, non-decaying body? Anyways, when he's not bring peeps back from the dead, he's running his family's funeral home and taking care of his undead wards.
