on sunday we beat the final boss in our lancer campaign. i was lucky enough to manage to land the killing blow and get to use a little piece of writing i'd had in my back pocket for 8 months (!!!) waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it. needless to say, our characters experienced a lot of growth. so when it came time to level up, the white witch stood out to me as the most obvious choice. first off, its a fucking crazy frame. if you aren't familiar, the white witch is built around soaking up damage meant for allied characters and using it to become even stronger. in particular it gains a weapon at its third and final license level called the retort loop. this cannon gains and additional d6 damage and space of knockback for each charge it gains when you take a hit, up to a total of 3. it is genuinely a fucking insane weapon and i can't wait to gain access to it. this all is to say that it was the perfect fit for the direction i want to take orion. a more direct, hands-on approach to defending allies :)
