When I created this Transformers fan art I had in mind the Transformers movies the Transformers games and the Transformers original cartoon. And I also looked at various Optimus Prime in Transformers toy collectibles to get a better understanding of how this characters design works. I didn't take too much from the Michael Bay Transformers movies I mostly start to the Transformers Animated design and influenced by the comic books.

I sure. With a pencil sketch that I then added ink Line work. I kept the edges slightly rounded to give this cartoon character looking design. Actually made this before the Bumblebee movie came out but it's nice to see that they reverted back to a more classic style. I mostly work in black and white in either pencil drawings or pen-and-ink drawings sometimes a combination of two though at times I will color them either by traditional art methods or digitally.
