Hellverse - Azrael and Ereshkigal

Painting based on my two main characters, Azrael and Ereshkigal from my "Hellverse" books. The concept is a re-imagining of Lucifer's fall and the creation of Hell. I combined archetypes such as Hades and Persephone, Cain and Lilith, Nergal and Ereshkigal and other similar stories across different mythologies to come up with a baseline common denominator for all those myths. It's a "what if" the devil (Azrael) was the good guy and "angels" were actually alien parasites that use living flesh as hosts.
