Flame Cross Slash

Share

Another one from last inktober, another one that really took too much time or, to be more exact, I enjoyed too much. The them was flame or such, and my mind instantly went to visualize Daltanias final attack, Flame Cross Slash. I was in a mecha mood I guess (well, I always am). It started much simpler, like the second Mazinger Z piece, but then I indulged a lot on trying to find the right pose, sort of an homage to the "Obari Finishers" and Carranger "RV Robo" finisher, hence the big leg on the foreground. The poor monster victim is the fisrt that was efeated by Daltanias but it's lost in my attempt to render the effect of the finishing move. I still like the overall result: Daltanias retained it's simple look while adjusting to my style, same for the falme and light effects. Really not my favouirte mecha but a very ppular one in Italy and one that I watched a lot as a kid.

Bizarrely enough, I drew lots of mecha but never drew Kotetsu Jeeg in years, which is one of my favourite if not my favourite, mecha. Hope to find the time to do so soon.

Well done. The insane amount of detail on this reminds me of stuff done by Kentaro Miura.

Thank you so much, that's an amazing compliment! Miura's work is one of my absolute favorite, I really loved Berserk. Such a shame he never managed to finish it but, even more of a shame, that we lost such an artist and such a person. That's really tragic.
Thank you so much for your comment and rating!
