This Zaku III in particular belonged to a particularly gung-ho pilot named Maxwell Dimeter. Maxwell is a Neo-Zeon soldier and is fiercely loyal to the cause so when he got his Zaku III he decided that instead of using the base version he'd see how he could upgrade it. So he took pieces from both variants of the Zaku III and tried to make his own variation using the best he could find from other Mobile Suits and the other variant of the Zaku III.
