To answer your question,

GX is the most swingy series in terms of quality. Its highs are the highest and its lows are the lowest. Its got one of the strongest casts of characters, and yet it still becomes protag hour every hour at times. I'd recommend it if you enjoy the series, but if the first season didn't leave much of an impression I wouldn't continue. Season 2 is even goofier with a lower budget, and I love it for that. Season 3 is significantly more serious and calls back to the original series's more occult moments a lot harder than the first 2 seasons do. Season 4 is kind of depressing if you get really invested since its everyone's individual stories mainly from season 1 wrapping up, but the end boss has a unique gimmick that while quite clearly unfeasible if not outright terrible if implemented irl comes across as menacing.
