TL:DR a scammer commissioned me, I caught on to their plans when they told me to send them money so they can pay a "fee" to send me money. I went to a mod from the server we frequent and he got banned.
I was approached by this user on discord who goes by the name Fallon lisa. the person commissioning me didn't seem too suspect but there were some signs like how they were willing to pay over 600 dollars for my art. I told them they didn't need to pay that much and I showed them the prices. a common red flag is when the scammer presents you with a large sum of money to entice you. I didn't want to jump to conclusions so after I showed them the prices, they commissioned me to draw a computer background for them. nothing specific, just something good... whatever that means. I drew the commission and when the I told them I was done they were ready to give me the amount promised and had the circumstances been I would've emailed them the artwork. however the person said they were being charged to send the money to my cashapp. this was very suspect and I told them that cashapp doesn't charge you to send someone money. the user still insisted that he was being charged and suggested I try sending them 85 dollars. I told him don't have that money(and even if I did I would've lied about having nothing) and the user told me to ask a parent or friend for money. I muted the guy and went to the mods on the discord server we frequented and told them my story. the user was banned and now all that's left to do is report them on artist beware so that artist can avoid them. this has been a pretty long description but if you read it all I appreciate you giving your time. feel free to screenshot the artwork and use it as your wallpaper.
