Here is the context of the image:

~Shadow Cicada AU~

« After abandoning Macaque, Wukong had to tell Tripitaka everything what happened because the latter had asked why Wukong was covered in blood.

Shocked and disappointed once again by Wukong’s actions. Tripitaka will release Macaque from his spell and end his journey with him and not with Wukong as he wanted nothing more to do with him and his case was no longer about him.

He trained in magic with Macaque and over time he eventually acquired the power of shadows, thus turning purple.

His new powers scared the demons who tried to devour him to become immortal.

His is called now the Shadow Cicada. »

~Tripitaka~

Tripitaka is still the same but not as sweet as before. He no longer wants to leave his naivety and kindness put him and his friends in danger.

He now wears black and purple clothes.

He can pass through walls like Macaque.

He sings lullabies to Macaque to calm his panic attacks.

Tripitaka has feelings for Macaque but he doesn’t realize it.

~Macaque~

Macaque now accompanies Tripitaka on his journey as he owes him a debt for saving him.

Macaque has sensitive ears.

Macaque’s ears glow at night.

Macaque is blind in one eye.

Macaque suffers from PTSD and phantom pain.

Macaque has feelings for Tripitaka.

Macaque’s fur has turned white due to the trauma he has suffered. (inspired by Tokyo Ghoul of course.)

~Wukong~

Wukong greatly regrets his actions and tries to redeem himself but the monk refuses to grant him forgiveness.

Wukong still has his selfish side. He wants nothing but forgiveness from his former master.

Wukong feels jealousy towards Macaque.

Wukong has feelings for Tripitaka.

~Additional Information~

In this AU Tripitaka and Macaque have never met before.

Bajie, Sha Wujing and the white horse dragon (I forget his name) are still with Tripitaka.

Shadow Cicada can also be a ship name since there is none. *laughs*

Macaque’s outfit isn’t official, I just had no idea of an outfit for him.

I’ve always wanted to see Tripitaka in black and purple, and it suits him so well!

On the other hand, his hat is always a torture to draw. TvT
