Crimson

Rumor has it that a mysterious Pokémon ROM-hack exists across the net. The game cannot be found regularly, as no download exists. Instead, the game is said to be passed around through e-mail as a gift.

The game is a recreation of the famous Pokémon Red released for the Nintendo Gameboy in 1997, a time when Pokémon was at its peak in popularity. It usually plays with a pre-made save file called "Crimson," until at the very end after a sudden crash. Attempting to boot up the game afterward would result in a corrupted save file.

Players Have reported unusual occurrences to the game when trying to play again. In this, the titular main protagonist (named "Crimson" after the save file,) becomes a demented trainer that tortures the Pokémon from within. Players have reported lot of notable events happen, from highlighted, vibrant Pokémon that bring their victims to Crimson's demise, to names and expressions changed within the Pokémon, acting out their usual character. One by one, players would come to realize every Pokémon they cherished would be slaughtered by the demented trainer.

Players would pass around the game between friends and colleagues, never to be spoken to again. The origins of the hack are disputed, from who Crimson is, the real identities of the Pokémon, or where the e-mails all started, nobody knows where it all started.
