As always with every piece of fanart I make of Ride the Cyclone, I would like to direct your attention to The biggest issue with the Arena/McCarter production of the show. Yannick was unjustly and unceremoniously removed from the cast as the only disabled actor to play a disabled character, Ricky Potts. There is a petition to stop erasing Ricky's disability from the script, what was once a teen with rare degenerative disease that left him mute and on crutches is now a pastor's son who has taken a vow of silence. It's nothing short of a heinous act of discrimination against disabled actors. Ride the Cyclone is a wonderful story about celebrating who you are, not how others perceive you. And Ricky's entire story was the epitome of that.
