"There once was a well-to-do warrior from the sleepy town of Grimm. For many years, he faithfully defended his homestead from orcs, ogres, and other unwelcome passersby.
One fateful evening, while going about his nightly watch, he was bitten by a particularly troublesome hellbeast. Its venom poisoned his mind and twisted his body into a terrible, frightening visage. He now plagues the inhabitants of Grimm, his former brethren turned prey. It is said that one glance into his cold, dark eyes will rob you of your soul.
Many attempts have been made to ward off the creature- charms, talismans, incantations. But really, all you can do is pray. Pray that you never meet this beast, pray that he never meets you.
Beware, dear friend. Beware the Grimataur."
For Draw with Jazza's Challenge of the Month. Did a lot of experimentation with piece, especially with perspective and lighting. Also left my sketchy linework in this time to try for a more painterly look.
Drawn in Krita, 20-25 hours
