I don't really have a specific idea yet. but what I'm going with currently is Jionni (the boy we see here) brought his friends to his house to try to find answers to a few things that he and his peers noticed that were severely unusual. like how the parents of the kids were taking away various things like video games and vhs tapes for no apparent reason, the local arcades shutting down. and cartoons not airing at all. and they all eventually find out that all those things have been banned in their home state of Arizona (don't ask I'm honestly still figuring out that myself) and that's it so far
