Tried some blending, painting, and blurred gradient stuff. Didn't look right, so I spat out some flat colours and a bit of hard edge shadows and highlights to call it done.

This character, Rosemary Roswell (très silver age, non?), was the protagonist of a project I wanted to work on way back when I was in highschool. It was about urban spelunking, magic architecture, alien shapeshifters and some light Lovecraftian gooberisms. My enthusiasm petered out when I went to college for design instead of animation, but I still think about the characters and setting now and then, and I never got bored of drawing them. For a while, I was using "Roswell" as a username, I don't remember where though, I just remember people asking what the name was about, and having to sheepishly explain "oh it's this teenage girl character I was writing a pitch bible around," and then the conversation would just awkwardly end, so uh, yeah. Let's immortalize that on the internet forever now. Whatever.
