In honor of the release of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, Newgrounds is holding a special animation collab where users can submit animated projects based on their favorite Nickelodeon cartoons. However, since I'm still learning how to animate, I decided I would draw some fanart instead. The character I chose for my fanart was Jenny Wakeman from My Life as a Teenage Robot. I chose her not only because she's a lot easier to draw than other Nick characters, but also because she's a great character whom a lot of people can relate to, especially preteens and teenagers. Jenny's story is also similar to "Astro Boy" in a few ways. She is an angsty 16-year-old girl who is also a killer robot, and she tries to balance both protecting the earth and living a normal, teenage life, and as you can imagine, it’s a very believable struggle. Her show doesn't pander to the teenage demographic, and Jenny herself portrays a genuine brash teenager who is pressured into fitting in, with hilarious results. That's what makes her show so entertaining to watch. I'm really glad that she was added to the roster in All-Star Brawl 2. If I ever get the game, I'll be definitely playing as her.
