This is my entry for Jazza's April 2016 Challenge of the Month. For my piece I chose to depict a memory with my dog Baxter wherein a game of fetch got a little out of hand. As you can see in the illustration, the painting is crooked and the lamp has been burnt out. I've utilized the colour and light in this piece as a metaphor for the light that the bond I have with my dog brings to my life. Similarly, I've attempted to depict the trust and love that comes from having a special bond with a pet. A pet is always there when you need them for comfort or to share a secret.
