PLANTOBER # 22 WISTERIA
Wisteria genus of flowering plants is related to beans.
I could end it here, because beans, but I feel like people who have these plants near them would be offended to say the least... wonderful summary so let's get into it a bit more!
Native to Korea, China and Japan, this plant also naturally grow in Canada or America, among few other countries. Introduced into many regions it also grows in Central and Western Europe.
Used mostly for the decorative purposes, sometimes for its wood, wisteria presents itself as rich, wide spreading plant with amazing canopies and fragrant flowers.
Depending on the species and region, wisterias prefer to climb or spread. Because of that, people often create support constructions for specific looks and shapes.
These plants can grow for centuries, and some most spectacular and old plants are specimens in Ashikaga Flower Park, or Sierra Madre Wisteria in California.
Seeds are toxic and should be avoided by humans and animals. Levels of toxicity of the entire plant is debatable, but by my educated guess: it advised to not chew on this plant ^^'
So there you have it! Another amazing plant that is well worth care and cultivation! And there are thousands of documented cases of cats living and chilling withing wisterias :D
As always, thank you so much for taking a look at my art!
