This was so fun to work on, I can’t wait for next year already!! (THIS IS STILL THE MOST POGSEX)
HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!
Wowie, Madness Day really snuck up on me this year! The question I ended up asking myself this year was: Can I build a Madness Combat episode? The answer is yes, yes I can! Thank you, Cherri Jubilee, my lovely partner in crime, for collaborating with me on this piece!
This model proudly displays the bloody result of Sanford and Deimos’s escapades, complete with the scattered corpses that surely somebody will have to clean up (somebody, or the Madness literally eating away at the far side of the model). Each Grunt was molded and painted by hand, using the corpses in the episode as reference. Having done this all by hand, I once again applaud Krinkels himself for the astounding amount of detail in every episode of Madness Combat. While working on this project, time and time again did I mutter to myself “Krinkels, you sonnuva bitch!”
If you’re a nerd that cares about the method to this madness (hah):
The majority of the building is constructed with 1/4” foamcore. I painted a layer of drywall plaster over the foamcore, and then got to detailing with acrylic paints and alcohol markers. Features like the doorframes and the ladders are made of balsa wood. The grunts themselves are made of an air-dry foam cosplay clay (HUGELY recommend to anyone that’s wanting to dip their toes into making clay creations :D). 44oz bottle of ketchup for scale (we didn't have any bananas)
Happy Madness Day, everyone! Here’s to another year (and many more to come) of Madness Combat.
