This part of a series of pages of a comic I commissioned. This is not meant to showcase my artistic abilities, rather it is to showcase my experience writing, managing, and art directing comics and their scripts.
This is simply a pencil, not the final inked version. Still, page three is my favorite page, simply from both Sirair's design and the immediate ambiguity as to whether Sirair or Ariya is in the right or wrong here. While Ariya attacks first, it is provoked, and Sirair certainly strikes an imposing figure. Looking through the first three pages, there is a lack of dialogue, but a lot is said in just a few frames.
Critically, I admit that due to my direction, Ariya's posture is not the most appealing, and if done again, I'd want more weight put into the stab so that killing intent is significantly more apparent. Ariya looks desperate to kill here, although she should be much more calm and efficient with Sirair being more desperate to survive.
