8th Place Winner of the Montrose's 2023 Sweet Sixteen Comic Contest!

MAJOR SPOILERS for the DnD campaign I am running so don't read this if you're one of my players!!

This is my entry for Montrose's 2023 Sweet Sixteen Comic Contest! I used this contest as an excuse to illustrate a story that was rattling around in my mind at the time and took what would normally be about a 3-5 chapter story and crammed it into 16 pages, so I hope too much didn't get lost in the abridging. It's a mostly original story with mostly original characters that is loosely based on lore from the Sword Coast (specifically about the King Killer Star and the Dragon Cult)

Wooooow, this art is so good! God, the characters are so beautiful. And this an amazing origin story. Such a tragic story, and I was left wanting to know more! I’m really looking forward to reading more of this as it comes out. Thank you so much for entering the contest!

King-Kiddoh responds:

Huehue~ I got outlines written out for the next 4 16 page chapters~ Also; I'm really glad people are showing an interest in the comic so it might be a series I'll try to complete. Thanks for running that contest, I didn't win, but it gave me great motivation and excuse to work on a story that was plaguing my brain at the time, and it also opened up a lot of opportunities I think.

Beautifully rendered!

This is amazing!!!!! I really hope you win

King-Kiddoh responds:

Thank you. I put a lot of hard work into it so I hope I win too. I'm glad you like it. :3

A very grim but nevertheless well executed comic in terms of art, composition and story. As someone who has played DnD off an on, I found it pretty engrossing, and I like how you incorporated some of the technical aspects of the game into the storytelling (i.e. describing the dragons through their main stats). Good luck in the contest!

King-Kiddoh responds:

Thank you so much! There's a lot more to the story I wish I could have told, but that's hopefully something I will get to do with my DnD campaign.
