Aegis - Ancient Archivist

There are strange beings in this world, one such being the Shardminds, these beings of sentient rock were once said to defend the world from beings from the far realm. Now they are just as much a victim of the Illithid as any other being if not more so. Each Shardmind is able to control specific minierals and uses them to construct bodies. They do not need to eat nor sleep nor even breathe and killing them is a troublesome task indeed. When enough damange is substained they return to stone to slumber till they can restore their bodies.

This Shardmind Aegis has been asleep for a long time indeed. Inorder to help her lover she turned into a powerful artifact known as the Staff of Aegis, however she ended up trapped in this state until awoken by a party of adventurers. Now Aegis is aimless without home nor anything she could call a purpose. Where will life take her?
