--- Story Time ---
Cynthia left the antique store holding her newly acquired Ray Gun.
It looked like something out of her favorite poke star movie, Invaders.
Walking out of town into the forest she amused herself with the idea that it wasn’t a meer prop,
but some alien artifact… which is exactly when the gun began to glow.
Astonished at the light Cynthia quickly realized it was homing in on something,
intrigued and a bit curious Cynthia lead where the Ray Gun was pointing her.
After a long ways into the woods, the sun had set and Cynthia was still no closer.
She thought to call out her Togekiss and fly away but she seemed so close, the Ray Gun was now glowing so bright it illuminated the path ahead of her.
Still it didn’t seem like she was close, she thought taking a step further, and that was when the ground gave out from under her.
Enveloped in the crumbling earth Cynthia fell hard onto the metal flooring.
Coughing as the dust settled she realized the Ray Gun had been covered and snuffed out, yet she wasn’t in total darkness,
no three softly glowing lights sped towards her.
A pokemon appeared, its form only vaguely lit by its alight hands, their color rapid and changing.
Cynthia tried to figure out what pokemon it was. “I’m sorry if I disturbed you I was just” she managed before her speech slowed,
the lights had her attention. She couldn’t describe why but she felt a compulsion to stare,
to understand, the flickering finger lights.
Whenever she thought to look away a part of herself reeled her back,
no she almost had it figured out she need only…
Stare a little longer
Stare a little deeper
She’d figure it out

She was so far entranced she didn’t notice the pokemon psychically lift her up, gliding her across the space ship.
The Beheeyem was glad to have found its captain, it had been so long since they crashed landed here.
The captain said she’d be back soon, but Beheeyem was unfamiliar with what Human’s meant by “Soon”.
It had been three hundred and twenty five years, but she had now returned.
It placed the captain into her recovery chamber; she must be tired from the exploration, and the fall.
It would repair her body, and her mind, cleansing it of any pain.
The Beheeyem watched as her dirty cloth outfit was replaced with a slick acrylic one, why was she in such rags?
Her old uniform must have been broken in the field. Beheeyem noticed his captain had captured other lifeforms, they would serve as great new crewmembers.
It would be a while yet before the process finished, but it was but a trifle of time compared to how long it had already waited.
---
Warm air rushed in as the recovery chamber hissed open, Cynthia’s eyes snapped to attention.
She felt different, ah yes she had been completely refreshed.
She called to her crewmate Beheeyem “Is the ship ready for departure?” she asked.
The alien’s lights glew, and Cynthia understood its meaning.
“Right then lets “ she stopped for a minute,
no it wouldn’t do to leave now while her crew of pokemon was strong she’d need some human crewmates to make a voyage across the galaxy.
Some memories of her travels in the field began to stir, strong trainers like herself that would make suitable recruits, yes she’d track them down and ask them to join.
Beheeyem understood its captain’s thoughts; it decided that should any of her selected crew refuse, it would be forced to use more “Encouraging” methods.
