The Selfish Tides

Share

Red never had realistic expectations. He was assigned to be a guardian of the stormwater, one that would shelter suburbs from whatever elements may brush across them. But as he dangled with the birds on the electric lines, his eyes, as if on their own volition, would wander towards the humans who inhabited the streets. He fell in love with them. And as he admired them more and more from the heights above, he realised that he would never be happy unless he had them all for himself.

Tragic

Cool story! I really like the wavy patterns on the ground. It seems like water, but also like a mass of distorted mirrors molded onto the real world. The use of every day objects here adds a really cool dimension to everything.

LiteralHat responds:

Thank you a lot Techtarine! I wanted to aim for something that looked translucent yet uncannily gummy at the same time, as if someone mixed a bunch of dipping paints together.

Selfish people are real annoying. Be like me and share your things.

...even your dirty little secrets

LiteralHat responds:

when i was 6 i saw my dad fuck a horse
