It's awesome how much mileage you get out of this abstract, messy sketch. While the lines are all very scattered and sporadic, there's enough detail and implication to give this sketch a really cool atmosphere. The two clock towers(?) are obviously massive and inherently mysterious because of the little visual information we're given as viewers. The giant stump(?) rising out of the pit is nonsensical and bizarre, helping along the disjointed nature of the piece. All the extra lines for flavor in the architecture pull everything together by giving enough detail to be visually interesting, but not enough to be clean or excessive. The jagged bridge (wall? Which I thought was a walkway at a very odd angle at first) going across the piece is a nice touch, helping to separate foreground and background. Really dig this.
