Part of my ballad series. This one is about a woman tempted by an ex lover into leaving her husband and children and boarding a ship to head to distant lands. A few weeks into the journey, the woman regrets leaving her children. The ex-lover is revealed to be demonic and the ship springs a leak and sinks.
It's also a bit about another song, Willie O' Winesbury, also about motherhood and consequences.
