Based on “Final Hours” of the “Anime Arc”
So everyone has attended Desti’s funeral with Meggy in her new human form. Meggy pushes the casket and everyone salutes Desti as Meggy quietly promises that she will win Splatfest. Flare walks forward and is the last person to salute as this is very bittersweet for him and Desti’s feud, they may not have gotten a chance to be somewhat close or friendly to each other but Flare knew how much Desti meant to Meggy so he’s ready to help her anyway he can to ensure victory.

It was quite sad about what had happened to Desti. Truly the saddest moment in SMG4 history along with Axol's death!
