At first I just wanted to throw on a shotgun like in "Masterkey" setups, but then I realized if the magazine is behind the trigger it can't double as a shotgun grip, and adding a stubby extra grip looks terrible OTL. In the end I went with this cursed launcher-type trigger that I'm sure would give gun nuts a laughing fit. One can only hope the character design already scared them away. I think the rest of the gun looks more plausible than the old version, so I assume "taking liberties" like that is made worse through uncanny valley effects.

I also tinkered with a "more reasonable version" that's less bulky and uses the same pistol magazine, but I think it ended up being a boring and pointless compromise. Doesn't feel like a "gearshift" if that makes sense.

Originally I wanted to iterate on the old rifle, but in the end I ended up bastardizing an MP7 with various bullpup rifle refs.
