La Llorona's Punishment

Share

"You are not my child, pray that you'll be mourned for mine werent"

Deep within a dark river, a Colonial Mexican girl cried out from the river bottom. Chained down by cursed weeds and lungs filled with water. Cries will never be heard.

"No one heard my children's wailing, neither will yours."

Above her watery prison, she's seen life go by while she reminded beneath the water

"A conscious mind after death, a worst punishment alongside premature burial"

Playful children would spend their time by the riverside or take a dip in the water

'The laughter of my children is what I forgot. All I remember are their cries. "

Witness couples of all sorts spend the day together, in the light of day or the still of night.

"I once loved another, but he loved someone else."

On occasion, a gathering of a family will reside by the river.

"Family is what matters most. A mother must always protect her children, and he wanted to take them away from me."

Never to hear her cries.

"I lament my decision, for all I have left is vengeance."
