This represents a snapshot of a preliminary scan of a human face. It's purpose is to locate, identify and catalog unique microscopic lifeforms.

It's an interactive illustration I call a, "living illustration." Technically it's comprised of hundreds illustrations and animations being driven by thousands of lines of code, some of which is being made in real-time. But, it all comes together to illustrate my point - pun intended.
This is combines a crap ton of techniques, i.e., pixel-art, 3D modeling, 2D digital drawing, photography, programming in JAVA (Processing), and a lot of math; mostly trig and some calculus.
Hopefully it will inspire more of us to combine our art with code to not make games but something else. Something new and innovative. That's what art does best.
If the eyes are the windows to the soul then art is the soul.
