This picture was inspired by ac120, I saw his Carol and Peter series on Twitter and it activated my almonds. I used a reference pose from Brie Larson doing some yoga stretches, which only felt too appropriate.

I'm not really a fan at all of Marvel's Captain Marvel. I didn't grow up reading comics or was much of a Marvel fan beyond Spider-Man, but I was attracted to the short-haired version they gave her a while ago, but AC's was the first that really got the hair right for me, and the design IMO was more faithful to the character's Ms. Marvel outfit, liked more than the full body jump-suit. Finishing the Seven of Nine painting also gave me the confidence to tackle another character with a similar hairstyle.

I think the Peter/Carol pairing is a fun one and really got more prominent since that Avengers movie. The text implies a comic but it's for fun and to fill in the right side of the image. I'm not planning to do any sort of comic with these two, but maybe some sketches would make it possible to do more in the future.
