Daisy Redesign DX!!!

Wow, a Daisy redesign that has elements from her 64 design with darker skin, freckles and tennis shoes? What a never before seen concept!!!

Ive been wanting to redesign a character for a while, but most characters i would redesign have little to nothing that i can change or improve on. Then i remembered that daisy is kinda just peach with an orange dress design wise, so i thought i could take a crack at it.

For starters, the dress patterns and red crown were a no brainer. They are very unique designs that stood out from peach pretty well and pushed the flower motif farther than her current design. I made them orange however because i like the accent orange on Daisy's dress. I also added some to the poofy sleeve things too. Second, i made her dress shorter like her tennis design because, again, its unique and fits Daisy's personality better. The shoes and socks are also from her tennis design, albeit with some design changes. The thing around her waist (im not good with dresses) i changed to be more flower like, to match the trim on her sleeves. Her hair and face mostly stay the same although i made her eyes green like her broach, because theres enough blue eyed Mario characters. Her skin tone is also changed to be more like her n64 appearance. It only makes sense that the princess of a desert would be either tan or have darker skin. And the freckles....... I mean, they're cute. Nuff said :)

Overall im very happy with how this turned out. As implied before this was my first attempt at redesigning a character, and it was really fun! Also im too lazy to render it so its gonna stay flat, at least for now.

(Bonus; take a shot every time i say the words "change" or "design")

11/4/23 Edit: it didnt stay flat. I finally got around to rendering it and i think it looks pretty dope. The patterns look good because the clipping tool exists and i didn't know that for the longest time, and the gems look all sparkly and shiny :)
