Another development in my digital painting journey. This is where the concept of using the biggest brush possible started to click for me. I stopped doing any under-drawing and went straight into massing in the areas of colour with a big square brush. The fantastic thing about digital painting is the ability to paint colours straight over the top of each other without any mixing. This makes it so easy to push the shapes of colour around and control their interaction on your own terms. It's an experience on the complete opposite end of the spectrum to oil painting where everything mushes together if you're not extremely careful.
