Finally completed this, it's been in the works for a while. Max is a character that I had a lot of notes for, but not a face and a look to go with them. So this one has been a long time coming!

He's a member of the Vanguard family, which, throughout history, has produced a hero to save the world almost every generation. These heroes are chosen by the Mageblade, a sword of immense magical power.

Max spent a large amount of his childhood trying to live up to his family's expectations, but felt like he never quite could. At some point in his teens he gave up trying altogether. According to him, this is good, because his family is now ecstatic whenever he puts in anything more than the bare minimum. He constantly says he doesn't care, but it's more to convince himself than anybody else.

He's also Zack's best friend.
