Jian Ling the True Gold Emperor

Race: Wyrmkin

A wyrmkin is the child of a dragon and a humanoid, regardless of whom which race is the mother a wyrmkin is born with equal amounts of dragon and whatever race was bred with. Such unions are incredibly rare and result in beings with naturally powerful magical powers. One wyrmkin is Jian Ling, the son of the dragon the blue lung dragon Xiang Xiang Xing-Fu and the humble farmer of the kingdom of Colidu, Lotura. The two had been courting for months, with the former in the guise of a human, eventually Xiang Xiang revealed his true form and Lotura was not bothered. The two then finally got together and tied the knot, the two lived happily and soon Lotura was with child... However, the king of Colidu Gonyro was seeking a bride and wanted the beautiful Lotura to be his bride. After threatening her family, Lotura was forced to comply and became the empress of Colidu. Then the whole thing of her being pregnant came up. Soon an heir to the throne would be born and it would not be of Gonyro's blood. The palace kept everything under wraps and when the child was born, nothing was said to the people and the half-human and half-dragon child was thrown out a palace window... To be caught by a conveniently passing swan with green eyes similar to Xiang Xiang.

When told the fate of her child from a midwife, Lotura died of despair. The nonplused Gonryo simply remarried and thought everything was done, but naturally karma would have a field day with him. For 20 years he ruled Colidu, his second wife would pass away but would give birth to a healthy son born to him, and steadily got neighboring towns to join his budding empire. He became known as the Gold Emperor and it seemed his reign would be prosperous... But then one day a mysterious hooded wizard with a crystal ball.

"Hail Gold Emperor, I am a wandering oracle and I wanted to ask you three questions"

Gonryo nodded, eager to have an oracle spread his glory.

"My first question is thus: is all life precious to you?"

"Of course it is! Whether it be one of my warriors, my citizens, their animals, or wild animals I view all life precious"

"My second question: What virtue do you value most?"

Gonryo thought for a few seconds "Loyalty! You can have all the strength and wisdom in the world, but if you are not loyal you are worth nothing.

"My final question: have you ever lied to reach your station?"

"I have been tempted good oracle, but I have never ever lied!"

The oracle laughed a hollow laugh that echoes through the castle.

"Ohohohoho... You truly are a liar king, not once but twice! You have lied before and the only life you value is tour own... You are right about one thing however, without loyalty you are worth nothing, since indeed you ARE nothing"

The Gold Emperor's face turned red

"What is the meaning of this?! Who are you charlatan?"

The oracle pushed back his hood and the whole court gasped, Gonryo's face when from red to pale.

The head was like that of a dragon, covered in blue fur and yellow eyes. The eyes of Lotura.

"I am the son of your first wife and the great dragon Xiang Xiang Xing-Fu!"

"I-Impossible! You are supposed to be dead!" Gonryu stammered, causing another gasp to go through the court.

"Since your pathetic servants threw me out a window, I was not given a name from my dear mother. Fortunately my father saved me and gave me the named Jiang Ling." the wyrmkin oracle answered smoothly.

"What do you want?" Gonryu growled, his fear turning back to rage.

"Nothing less than for your empire to fall... Which I have already set in motion" Jian chuckled.

Gonryu's anger once again switched to terror, he realized what he had blurted out earlier and also noticed that every eye in the room was now glaring at him, even his son.

Gonyru yelled at his guards to seize Jian, but the wyrmkin vanished in a puff of smoke before they could even get out their spears.

It was as Jian said, Gonryu's rule was over: the dark truth of his first wife and son was now revealed. Many allies refused to have anything to do with him and his own son Gontyo defected from his father and started a civil war in their kingdom. The Gold Emperor soon became known as the Tarnished Emperor, the oracle who visited him however became known as the True Gold Emperor. Jian Ling has no interest in ruling however, he prefers to wander the world like his father does and help those who need it.
