Goten [Tribute for Akira Toriyama] | 03.07.2024

I drew Goten because he is my favorite character from the franchise. When I first picked up Budokai 2, I wanted to play him because the idea of a child with so much power felt inspiring to me, who was also a child at the time.

It's hard to believe that the last time I ever drew a DBZ character was in the 4th grade, over 10 years ago, so trying to do it now was quite challenging.

My earliest experience and long-standing love of Dragon Ball Z began when I was 2 years old, watching it on Toonami. From there, I fell in love with GT whenever I caught it on TV after daycare. I fully delved deeper once I experienced what was both my first console video game & console fighting game experience: Budokai 1 & 2 for PS2 at my Uncle's house, along with Naruto Ultimate Ninja.

DBZ was not only one of the reasons I got into anime but also fighting games.

From airings of Kai to re-airings of GT on Nicktoons, Supersonic Warriors, Sagas, Super DBZ, Legacy of Goku, FighterZ, Budokai Tenkaichi 1 to now a new BT.

Dragon Ball has created bonding between family members and friends across the world. Thank you so much, Akira Toriyama.
