HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!
Seven (almost 8, woah) years ago I made a picture in class and handed it in as a holiday present. Years passed and when the subject of it was brought up again, I couldnt recover even a photo of it, since it was on a now bricked phone.
For a long time I thought that I would never see the original image again, until I miraculously discovered it in one of the old emails last autumn
Which is why I remade this piece once more, trying to capture the feel of the original picture and, hopefully, improving on failed ideas and refining decently made ones (refer to first img in post).
While drawing this I kept thinking just how much inventive children can be when drawing. I used to keep adding objects and ideas, seemingly at random sometimes, constructing odd and fun structures and creatures, not thinking much about how the ending result would turn out, while nowadays I try to focus on a singular concept and carry it out to the best of my abilities. Remaking scrubby, but fun chaos above was very fun and it threw me back to how I actually was thinking while doodling in school.
Another thing I noticed is just how faulty one's memory can be.Concept and essentials stayed the same, however many elements were either altered or forgotten, like the TV-jabot-hat-wristwatch fish having a pipe or christmas trees being present instead of a single one.
Anyways, Happy New Year everyone! I wish you the best of luck in your creative efforts!
Until next time :B
