 Esdrael resembling this much like a human is not canon inside the story for a lot of reasons, but a very important one is the fact that Esdrael's pride is way too big for transforming into a human being, so yeah, one of the reasons is because he doesn't want to look like "A lowly human being". Pretty jerk, huh? He's a God after all, he's used to be worshiped by humans and sacrifices were done at his name, so he's not going to resemble a mere servant.

 Other of the reasons why he never takes this form since he was born to the end of the project is because it's counterproductive for him; spirits and humans works in a very interesting way: the more you resemble what you want to link to, the stronger that connection would be, which translate: if you want to summon a spirit of nature, then you have to cosplay as much as possible as something that represents the spirit or God of Nature and to perform the corresponding ritual, so the power of Cosplay is hugely important here. It also applies to the other side as the more a spirit looks like a human the easier to blend in society but, at the same, the weaker it's going to be as. Humans are not War Machines by themselves alone like spirits, so specters that want to disguise themselves as a human are limited, and to regain access to the original powers they have to return to what they are.

 Due to this, taking a human form would only make him weaker; this is as much as he can lower himself to try and mimic the appearance of a man; he still has access to some of his power as he's not completely disguised, but he's much weaker. Fortunately, he's unfairly stronger than a similar-looking human, and a good portion of his power comes from the Zweihander he wields in his left hand.

 I know what you may want to ask: if his humanoid version doesn't exist in the project and Esdrael never transforms into this, why did we took the effort to make the illustrations and Character Sheet? Just to play around, we wanted to imagine what kind of appearance he would take if ever deciding to look like a human, and this was our conclusion. I think he's sexy as fuck xD This is the most aggressive stag ever.

 Anyway, the last reason why we made this version is for gags and other reasons. If you see any drawing featuring this version of Esdrael, then it's a non-canon one; the situation may happen with his neutral look though.
