I really like this and it does tell a story here but almost seems like its missing something not sure exactly what but it is missing something, maybe some running people or maybe some falling structures.

I agree with DoctorStrongbad wholeheartedly. The burning background has some great colors and silhouettes the odd structures nicely.
Nice fire. I like your details on your guy. Clever to use the dark shading only for your details. Im not sure where he is supposed to be, it kind of looks like a graveyard to me, though i'm not sure if that is what you were going for.
