Sir Richard Starkey is an English musician, songwriter, and actor who is best known as the drummer for the Beatles. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015 and received a knighthood in 2018. Starr is known for his inventive drumming patterns, time signatures, and accentuations. He also acted in many films and TV shows, including as Mr. Conductor on PBS. Starr's unconventional drumming parts were a defining feature of the Beatles' sound.
