this reminds me of when i used to be really into falconry, and i was going to get a kestrel.
It really has a lot of emotion coming through from the canvas, and this is one of my favorite pieces that i have seen.

A Kestrel, perched on a branch before a golden dawn. Oil on canvas, 2008. I was working from a picture of a kestrel, but the background was wholly my own. Enjoy.

looks awesome, especially for traditional work. I think you can go a bit further with your work, probably clean it up a bit and add more color blends.
I also noticed the rocks, I know you want to give the perception of distance by making it look less vivid, however the best way to recreate objects such as rocks is by understanding how the flat surfaces manipulate the shape (aka planes).
overall though, nice job, keep going with your work :D.
